I have no wish for anything that relates to God .. as long as God is too busy saving the Queen to mess with my own life I am happy.

On a calisser les curés dehors y'a 50 ans c'est pas pour les élire au gouvernement.

The Conservatives will never win an election unless they smarten up, stop their infighting and ditch their disturbing trend towards pandering to extreme right-wing crazies the same way the disgusting Republican Party does in the USA.

By the time Harper lost to Trudeau he was perhaps the most hated man in Canada but at least we have to admit that he was an intelligent guy, not a complete wacko like too many of the current Conservatives.

Wouldn't it be great if politicians started trying to do what's best for the country and its citizens instead of pandering to a bunch of mouth-breathing troublemakers waving Nazi and Confederate flags? This Candice Bergen and her MAGA support is an example of the absolute WORST in Canadian politics...along with Pierre P. and former Conservative Bernier, who took his ball and went home crying. Right-wingers bitch about Trudeau, often justifiably, but they'll never beat him with the bunch of ignorant and often racist clowns on their side of the political fence.

Pierre Poilievre is a good debater, but he is too right-wing for this country. If the Reform Party side wins the PCC , we will have the Liberals for generations. maybe they just want to be the opposition, like the NDP. It's easy to be a deputy and never be the government, and it pays well. Gilles Duceppe is a good example, 20 years of whining and plenty of cash and fame, never in a government.

With overwhelming number of fuckups in the government, i really cant say that any of them are the right choice, but NDP and the Liberals, have now fucked up to a point, that the Conservatives can abuse that idiocracy, and actually take the election.

Candice Bergen, who has met with the convoy protesters, unlike Trudeau.

Last week, the Globe reported that Bergen argued within her party that Tories should not ask the protesters to leave.

This morning, she changed her mind, she now wants the protesters to leave.

The Scrum takes a look at the Conservative Party leadership race as 'favourite' Pierre Poilievre started campaigning against Jean Charest.

Thanks...interesting debate....one said this race will b about ''the soul of the party''.....another said ''will b a nasty race'' and i agree.....the most important comment ''who is the adult in the room''.....i really believe CHAREST is the one....BUT il va devoir procéder

Not too sure about Charest. He is a red Tory. Will he remove the carbon tax? Will he reduce immigration and refugees entering Canada? Will he reduce sending taxpayers money to foreign countries? Will he reduce government spending? Questions that I have and want to know. However seeing who is leading the Liberals, at this point anyone else beside Trudeau will be a big improvement.

Jean Charest to become head of the conservative. Self-Destruction of a party?

I heard the rumors he was gonna run, so of course this is no surprise that its being confirmed. Personally i never hidden the fact that i absolutely despise Trudeau and would never vote for him. But at the same time there is nothing that would make me vote Jean Charest either. I am from Quebec, i know the guy, his history here is absolutely atrocious.

Personally i liked O'Tool and i think it was a very disapointing thing that he got fired. I am not at all against more leftist views in a right wing party. I always said i consider myself center leaning right overall.

Looking at the current run for head, i see Charest on one side and Pierre Poilivre on the other, wich is a very right wing candidate and that could turn off a lot of other peoples.

I feel this party just can't find its identity and only manage to stay relevant because first a lot of peoples hate Trudeau and the Liberals, so they vote for them by default, or they just simply vote there because they feel they have to, as its the only right wing party that is "big".

And quite honestly, i used to see potential in the Peoples Party but lately Maxim Bernier made some very stupid comments and i think he going way too "extreme" and that will not help him at all.

So whats the choice left? Im never gonna vote NPD either, they are basically the "club-ecole" of the Liberals.

Basically, conservative leadership election is gonna be a 2 way race...Charest vs Polievre.... Polievre being the favorite, imo.

All other candidates (Brown, Lewis, Sloan, etc) are an afterthought, imo...
