Dunno, Doc. 10 out of the last 16 ain't bad, though, admittedly, three of the wins were against the Jays.

Absolutely correct, my friend. As i've stated several times on this thread & to people who wanna know, the Jays suck!! Unless you're the Baltimore Orioles, it's an embarrassment to lose any games to that rebuilding team with no manager (and no stadium).

(By the way, will there ever be a day when you'll say anything negative about the Red Sox? Hmmm.)

..please help me to believe the story.

It was reported by Kim Jones of YES network after the game....she asked Swisher point blank if it happened and he said yes, it did. He hit that homer for that kid at Boston Children's hospital and he felt good that he did.

Beckett's obviously got a lot more ability than what he's shown, but I can't see how he's going to miraculously turn things around overnight, not in this meat grinder of a division. In truth, he's Boston's third or forth best starter right now, not their front-line guy.

I've never been that impressed with Beckett. Maybe it's because everytime i've seen him pitch against Toronto, they clobbered him. Playing with the Red Sox these past few years has made him look better than he actually is. Also the hype from the Boston media. Put him on an average MLB team and he'd be just that: average.

How about their pitching sucks?

LOL!!!!

Well, Lester & Lackey ain't that bad. Neither are Bard & Papelbon. What i don't like about the Sox is the fact that it seems it's always the same offense year after year, and constantly switching shortstops year after year. By the way, where did they get that left fielder named Hall? He looked absolutely terrible out there in the field against the Jays. He made Hideki Matsui look like Torri Hunter!

If you look at his career numbers with the Red Sox, he's about .25 runs a game better than average. That's good, but certainly not a stud. By comparison, Beckett is 4.21 with the Red Sox, Lackey is 3.82, Burnett 3.87, Sabathia 3.84, Pettitte 3.99, Lester 3.68, and Halladay 3.43. All number AL only. Beckett's good, the rest are very good. The only one's I'd call true studs are Halladay and Lester. (Considering Lester's age here. He's the only young pitcher (26) in the bunch and his ERA over the last two years is 3.30.)

Beckett made his reputation in a pitcher's park in the National League and through masterful performances in the 2003 and 2007 post-seasons. That said, he's also a tease. He mixes brilliance with bullshit.

His career ERA against the Yankees is 5.96 so there has been more bullshit than brilliance against the Yankees. Beckett staked his career and his supposed value upon one good game against the Yankees in game 6 of 2003 World Series when he played for the Marlins, but the stats show that since then he has generally sucked against the Yankees.

Hall's a utility player, mostly an infielder who's been forced into playing the outfield by injuries.

Always the same offense, year after year??? Scutaro's new, and doing just fine, thank you. Pedroia's a 4 year player, Beltre's new, Cameron's new, Martinez in his second year, Drew in his fourth, Ellsbury his fourth. The only starter's who've been around longer than 4 years are Youk and Papi.

And, despite all the breast beating in the Boston press this winter, the offense is doing just fine. Leading the league in slugging (Jays 2nd, by the way), 3rd in HR (Jays 1st), 3rd in runs.

Now, I'm gonna tell you somthing, pal, but I want to be sure you're sitting down first. Hold on tight. You ready?

You sure you're sitting? OK, ready or not.....

Hall's making $8.4 million this year. (Oh, all but $450,000 is being paid by Milwaukee.)

Jays SUCK! (hoping that will help them keep winning!, i would love to see them stay in TO and get a nice downtown outdoor stadium someday)...JAYS SUCK!!! :)

Oh how the mighty Red Sox have fallen....HARD!! At least the game didn't last its usual 4 hours!

As for my Jays, they're playing much better than people thought they would, especially me. Maybe it has to do with me openly telling people that the Jays suck. Maybe i'm on to something good. So i might as well keep on saying it & they'll keep on winning: Jays suck!!!! :D

(Again, not as much as the Red Sox, a team in total disarray)

Sox have not settled down at SS since Nomar was traded. We had the best one in BB in the minors in Hanley Ramirez...but he went to the Marlins on the Beckett/Lowell deal. That one's been argued for years over beer...but facts are without the trade '04 probably does not happen...won't get an argument out of me here Doc...I wish we'd find one. My 2 cents is we should have signed OC after '04, but Theo was in lust with Lugo...what a bust that was...

And YES...I just said Epstein's move on Lugo sucked...

Doc,
Can you offer any insight on whats up with Adam Lind this season so far? His numbers suck so far and he looks to be suffering the early season plight of Texiera, Ortiz and others...I see he is still hitting out of the 3 hole, but lately he has sat out some games. Thanks.

Have fun,

Jman

Ouch!! So Lyle Overbay being the 2nd-highest paid Jays player doesn't seem so bad anymore.

EB,

beckett is a hot head on the mound, you could see last night his little smirks and stares when he hit cano and jeter and when he brushed back cervelli and when he was screaming obscenities at Swisher. i see why a certain sox fan likes him so much, beckett pitches with a narcissistic personality.

The Jays are ecstatic at the way former Sox SS Alex Gonzalez has been playing so far. He's hitting a ton out of the ball!

As for Adam Lind, he's struggled to find his stroke. But it's nothing to worry about. Same thing with Aaron Hill, who's had trouble finding his stroke since returning from a hamstring injury. Travis Snider seems to be hitting better, and John Buck has been quite a surprise at the catching position. Right now, the Jays have holes at the 3rd base & first base position. I think it's only a matter of time until Lyle Overbay is benched in favor of either Randy Ruiz or rookie Brett Wallace, who's hitting a ton for Las Vegas in the minors.

Ok, I'm calling shenanigans on this one Iggy. Where did you copy and paste this post from? There's no way in hell you came up with a post void of any spelling errors, besides not using caps, and using words like "narcissistic" and "obscenities." Seriously, spill the beans my friend!

The word out today is that CC is going drill to somebody today as payback with Youk being the odds on favorite, I can hardly wait for the game to start today.

So what you're saying is that the Yankees are the only team that counts? (Actually, Beav, Beckett was superb in the post-season in 2007.)
