Why would the manager with one of the winning-est % in MLB and 2 rings want to jump ships. For even having his team in it at this point, he should get manager of the year. Girardi on the other hand may want to show the world that he can do something other than fill out a lineup card with names from a roster of the highest priced players money can buy.

A debate requires two opposing points of view presenting well thought out and intelligent responses that offer opposing points of view on a set subject. Lets just take the current case as a point...I made a simple statement. You twisted said statement into a meaning that suited something you wanted to say. I have absolutely no idea what Epstein or anyone else could have been thinking. What a terrible and pointless idea. The end result was 100% predictable. Someone must have poisoned the water with that pinstripe juice that causes the brain farts bad enough to come up with such nonsense.

Well Doc,

Not exactly. Chamberlain has had many excellent innings and some super outings, but generally he has always been "touched"...lol...as well as being quite touchable. His blow-up innings and failure to keep it all together can happen any time and that has always been his problem...inconsistency...which has gotten very consistent over time.

In the meantime, despite the loss, Clay Buchholz gave up only 1 earned run in 7.1 innings against Garza and the Rays, while Sabathia gave up 5 earned runs against the White Sox. Sabathia's ERA is almost a full run worse than Buchholz despite having a generally healthy team most of the year until recently, while Buchholz has pitched for a patchwork team of players for most of the year.

Another nail in the CY young award coffin today with another brilliant performance by CC Sabathia, throwing a one hitter thru eight innings with his best performance of the year, seems the more this horse throws the better he gets. The Yankees are now pulling away from the red sox as are the Rays, with a commanding 8.5 and 7.0 game lead respectively with a mere 28 games to go in the season.
