Frankly, I don't see Lincecum being nervous. He's a unique kid.
You are probably right, he seems to have an even keel...but it is the World Series...

The sight of George W Bush next to Nolan Ryan has me rooting for the Giants in a giant shift for me. I ALWAYS root for the AL team when they're not the Yankees, but not this time. Also, my two favorite cities on this continent are Montreal and San Francisco; I have no love for anything Texas.
Talk about continuing the moron theme...LOL. I had exactly the same thought, but I do like Nolan Ryan...so I have trained my brain to look at the Dubya-less side of the shots when they show them together...;)

Wait a minute...hold on...holy crap...you mean...NAAAAW...can't be...
You mean we can actually root for different teams and still talk to one another like civilized adults? WOW! What a concept...:cool:

I'm not going to comment on your deadly accurate rant about Ignora, as he isn't worth the time or effort. Essentially, he doesn't exist.
'Nuff said.

Have fun,

Jman

Actually, I spell it a bit differently: World Serious.

Alot of question marks on that team theo has over there in beantown, and a tired pitching staff minus Clay, Johnnie on the spot and d bard.... and aging papi, wakefield, varitek, martinez, and injury prone ellsbury, 2nd baseman, and the bald "funny" first baseman soon to be 3rd baseman when you dont resign beltre because theo is to cheap.

Ditto, ditto and ditto.... the Red Sox are in a heap of trouble, just waiting for the news that Beltre is going to walk.

"Who cares", quote from Cliff Lee when asked about the story regarding his wife at a recent playoff game in Yankee stadium.

It will be interesting to see Vlad back in RF tonight...
I'd rather see him in the Big Owe. I was reading something this morning, maybe Buster Olney, and the writer referred to Vladi as a "future HOFer." I glanced sideways at that, but then went to look over his numbers. Boy, he sure is.

Yeah, Vladi is for real and I have never heard an allegation that his statistics were not all natural...unlike others...

However, starting him might be a mistake. 1) David Murphy (.847 in 2010, 305 ab) hits right-handers better than Vlad (.810 in 2010, 440 ab). 2) David Murphy is a MUCH better fielder than Vlad. 3) Right field in San Francisco is a very difficult field to play.

Well, he can't cover ground like he used to but he still has a cannon for an arm. Kinsler saved his ass in the 1st inning with that catch...wow, what a play. So far lee looks like...we...Lee.

Vladi looks like he needs a wheelchair.

Awful, but it looks like they told Kinsler he has to play second base and right field the way he went back on that pop up. That is usually the right fielder's ball all the way and Kinsler did not even look for Vlad because he knew he was not going to be there. This is a move like Mayo Smith playing Mickey Stanley at shortstop in the 1968 World Series, you sacrifice defense for lumber although the sacrifice is much bigger on this move than it was on Stanley. Stanley replaced Ray Oyler who batted .136 or something like that as the Tigers every day shortstop that year, and Stanley was at least credible as a shortstop.

Or as Joe Sheehan put it, he's sacrificing defense for legend.

Hello EB,

Good to see you back. LOL, I have to agree....it was Vlad's ball all the way. But whats an AL Manager to do when he plays NL ball...has to make a choice. How about the base running blunder by Kinsler...that kind of stuff drives me crazy...looks like the Giants have this one...but things can always get interesting wit Wilson...

Have fun,

Unlike David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez you mean, I totally agree.

Well I suppose they are on the list, but I was refering to the king of the needle ARod and Clemens and Petite and Texiera and...everyone else from the pinstripe pharmaceutical fraternity......and Bonds, Palmeiro, Sosa and...

You see I intentionally didn't name any names because NO team went untouched AND I had no intention of starting a war...but I find it ironic and moronic that a Yankee(s) fan(s) throws the first rock in a steroid discussion when the some of most infamous abusers all wore Yankee blue...

BTW Manny's profile makes him the perfect fit for DH on a team of old men with rapidly declining performance; heath issues and most of all egos bigger than NY...PERFECT! A very reliable source has told me he has a RE agent looking for a place in NYC right now...

dont leave out Nomar, and Mo Vaughn.

How could I have forgotten these two poster boys for steroids whose careers were most likely cut short due to steroid abuse, and you can add Youkilis to the list, it's a well known fact that hair loss is a by product of steriod use, especially at such a young age.

Sabathia
Lee
Greinke
Hughes
Burnett

Yikes!!! everytime I type this rotation I shit my pants in excitement, excuse me while I go and take a shower.

I agree Bochy is a great manager, with a young and hungry team like you said, as was Girardi when he managed the Marlins, but managing the Yankees is not the same, you dont manage a team of allstars like you would manage a team like the Marlins, Joe is a great baseball mind and sure he makes mistakes, as does everyone, and has one of the top 5 most stressful jobs in all of sports, i would say he is a great manager indeed., and is the right guy for the job as Yankees skipper, as is Bochy for the Giants. A well deserved contract extension for Girardi.
gigantes & yankee fan here.

girardi did not manage the alcs very well.
yanks get by on talent, not pedestrian girardi decisions.
he can't get more out of the players.
players didn't appear fired up.

should not have pitched ajb at all.

girardi is no bruce bochy.

gigantes are hungry.
gigantes in 6.

Hello everyone,

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO WARN YOU GUYS???

It seems that no matter how many warnings I post, some people insist on acting and posting like spoiled children. Reading the last couple of pages of insults and personal attacks has seriously pissed me off.

This thread is now closed. I will decide later if it will be cleaned and re-opened or if I will just put an end to the baseball discussion here and now. One thing is certain, there will be a price to pay for this juvenile behavior.

I have removed 36 posts from this thread, going back to the 25th. I refuse to go back any further to see what else may deserve to be removed. I have spent too much time on this thread as it is.

At the moment, as much as some people deserve it, I am not going to level any suspensions.

BUT...............................................................................

If I see so much as one more personal insult posted in this thread, or one more confrontational post directed at another member, or one more insinuation directed at another poster, or one more dig at any other poster's baseball knowledge...I guess you get the idea...basically anything other than straight baseball discussion, this thread will be permanently closed and the poster who causes it will not be posting here until the 2011 World Series has wrapped up.

And if anyone carries this little fight over to any other thread, they will find out the hard way that that is a very big mistake. If you have a problem with another member, PM a moderator or use the ignore function. Also, if I receive complaints of anyone continuing this fight by PM, there will also be hell to pay for the instigator. Grow the fuck up or you will be looking for another place to post.

This is not open for discussion and I do not expect to see any posts in this thread regarding this situation. All i want to see are baseball related posts from here on out. If you have any comments to make, send them to me by PM. Any comments in this thread will be removed and a 1 week suspension will be the result for the poster.

I hope that I am understood this time. There will not be a next time.
