Why they're playing the game at 1pm makes no sense to me at all.

NBC pays the NHL more money than all of the other Canadian networks do. They prefer showing games in the afternoon since the ratings are better in the States when games are shown during the afternoon.

You math also stinks. It's not 28 out of 90 (still less than 1 out of 3), it's 28% of 90 (according to you) which is a little over 1 of 4 captain math failure. Are you Octavian's twin?

It's more like your reading and comprehension skills that stink my favourite fair weather Bruins fan. ;)

First wipe the tears out of you eyes, get a calculator, and read SLOWLY.

- The Bruins had the honor and privilege of being eliminated 25 times in their 90 years history by hockey's royalty or 27.78% of the time to be exact. (25/90 X 100 )

That's why I wrote a bit over every 3 years since 1 every 4 would be 25% and 1 every 3 would be 33.33%.

Now go and try to enjoy your 2011 cup that only took 39 years to achieve. (your calculator won't be able to help you with this but trust me, 39 is GREATER THAN 21) :D

Classless piece of garbage.Sore loser.Lucic played like a duck without a head and shows total lack of respect and sportsmanship.Decides to be a "tough" guy when it 's all over!
Too bad he didnt seem to tough with Jonh Scott last season nor with Laraque a few years ago.

"I will fucking kill you next year" is what was reportedly said by this classless sore loser during the handshakes, here is Lucic showing his true colours as he clearly wants no part of Colton Orr after tasting a few of Orr's rights, notice how he cowardly lets go and backs away at the end in true Lucic fashion, Don Cherry calls him a disgrace of a Boston Bruin.

BTW- The Cup parade will be on Saint Catharine in about 3 weeks, the Cup is finally coming back to Canada, my prediction, and so far my hockey predictions have been absolutely on FIRE!!!

Tough decision for Therrien, If Galchenyuk is healthy.... Who comes out?? Galchenyuk 4 points in 3 games vs Rangers this year.

"There's no way to measure how much the Bruins' taunts really inspired the Canadiens to play as well as they did. But it was obvious the Canadiens took some of the Bruins' gestures and words to heart and used them as a rallying cry in the dressing room. The only thing more dangerous than a talented team is a talented team inspired by perceived disrespect. The Bruins are a veteran team that typically avoids providing an opponent with bulletin-board material. This time, the Bruins gave the Canadiens an outside source of inspiration that helped tilt the series in Montreal's favor."

this classless sore loser

I regret to admit that I agree with Joe, although there is a certain irony to his words.

Lucic's threat is certainly in character. Just this year, Lucic has speared DeKeyser and Emelin from behind, despite being far taller and heavier than either of them.

I am glad that any team which includes the two thugs with fading talents, Lucic and Marchand, isn't going any further in the playoffs this year.

Enough with the brun ...

The Glorious in six games . Henrik Lundqvist as not win a game in montreal since march 7 2009.... And even if St Louis would be at home with the famely its going to be a greater distraction for him due to the unfortunate event of the death of is mother . Is not going to be easy for him.
The habs are fully confident and want to prove how good they are game after game. Its going to be very fast hockey game and at that the canadiens are good at . Briere as the best point average per minute play , PK best defense of the series showing that he got the Noris for a good reason.

BOYZ,

I got this tiny little baloney issue nitpick right. Not that it matters.

What is interesting is the Canadiens have 24 Stanley Cups to the Bruins 6, they've eliminated the Bruins from the playoffs 25 times, the city is beautiful and the culture is uniquely intriguing, the women are some of the most gorgeous in the world, AND YET...Montreal fans and the team are the ones deeply worried about having RESPECT, so much so that they've built a hatred that manifests the harshest labels and bile against a team that has done so much less according to you. Then to call a team white trash...with 16 CANADIAN MEMBERS!!! LOWEST!!! Why do Canadiens fans have such a boat load of serious angst and insecurity when pride should override all of it with all Montreal has...at least theoretically. Ironic. VERY! Could it be the 20 years has worn on this once indomitably proud franchise and it's fans?

I don't know how the Rangers match up to the Canadiens. Did I hear the season series was 2-1?

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...for-matchup-with-canadiens/9139147/GREENBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Coach Alain Vigneault, Brad Richards and the rest of the New York Rangers couldn't hide their excitement about facing the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference finals.

They already knew their next opponent would be a fellow Original Six team, but facing the storied Canadiens carries a little more cache than playing the Boston Bruins.

Montreal advanced to the final four with a 3-1 win at Boston in Game 7 on Wednesday night. The Rangers moved on one night earlier, knocking off the Penguins in Pittsburgh in another Game 7 — capping a comeback from a 3-1 series deficit.

The series begins Saturday in Montreal.

"I'm not going to lie, it's the best place to play," Richards said Thursday. "I've been fortunate enough to see Super Bowls, I was at Yankees-Red Sox at old Yankee Stadium Game 7, World Series, I've played in the Stanley Cup finals.

"I can't imagine any other sporting event that is this amazing of an atmosphere. It's very special."

Vigneault was a bit more tempered, and looked relaxed in sandals while speaking to reporters in English and French following his team's optional practice. Vigneault is in his first season as Rangers coach, following a long stint with Vancouver. The Canadiens hired him back in 1997 for his first NHL head coaching job.

"I've got nothing but positive memories from my time there," said Vigneault, a day after his 53rd birthday. "I've worked with some great people. I'm here today because I started there.

"Original Six games are always exciting and there's a lot of history associated with both teams. Playing against the Montreal Canadiens, it's going to be a lot of fun. Our group is real excited about this opportunity, and I'm sure the Habs feel the same."

Montreal won the last of its record 24 Stanley Cup titles in 1993, and the Rangers ended a 54-year championship drought the following season but haven't captured the Cup since.

These teams are meeting in the playoffs for the first time since 1996, when the Rangers won the first-round series in six games. Overall, they have faced off in the postseason 14 times with each team winning seven. This is the third matchup since Montreal knocked off the Rangers in five games in the 1979 Stanley Cup finals.

"For a Canadian kid, for the guys from Quebec it's really special," said Richards, a native of Prince Edward Island. "From where I'm from, there's a lot of Montreal fans. It's the closest NHL city in Canada to us. Our whole life was Montreal. That's all you get to see on TV.

"It's an amazing place. It's going to be so fun. It's a great opportunity for us."

The Canadiens were the only team from north of the border to qualify for this year's playoffs, and they have certainly proven they belong. They swept the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round and then outlasted Boston — the NHL's best team during the regular season — after trailing that series 3-2.

They are 4-1 at home in these playoffs. The Rangers and Canadiens went 1-1-1 against each other during the regular season. New York earned a 1-0 victory in Montreal on Nov. 16 and lost 1-0 in a shootout there to complete the regular season.

No. 1 goalie Henrik Lundqvist didn't play in either game there, a building in which the Rangers have struggled to win in recent years — going 1-7-2 in their last 10 visits.

"It's so long ago since I played there, so I don't really remember," said Lundqvist, with a laugh. "I look forward to going there. I am excited to play. It's a conference final in Montreal. I will try to go out and play the same way. Don't overthink it. Go out and enjoy it.

"As much as you focus on yourself, it's a team game. Going up there, sticking together, and believe that we can do it."

The Rangers are still dealing with the unexpected death of forward Martin St. Louis' mother before Game 5 against Pittsburgh. St. Louis briefly returned home to Montreal, but rejoined his teammates. He then scored a goal on Mother's Day in the Rangers' Game 6 win.

Funeral plans had been made for Saturday, and the Rangers were unable to change the starting of Game 1 that day because of television commitments for NBC.

"Marty, being who he is, was able to move the funeral to Sunday," Vigneault said. "So, Sunday, as a team we'll be able to attend his mother's funeral. Hopefully, we'll play a good game Saturday and get ready for the next one after."

Cheers,

Merlot

Its part of our European charm ... But we are still kindergarten stuff compare to european football. Real Madrid and Fc Barcelona or the North London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal Intesr vs AC Milan are a good example of reel hatred between to clubs . Also I find strange that all the team goes to one player's mother funeral . For me its something that should be private for the family . But i do respect their decision If marty feels better surrounded by is team mates so be it .

Been reading a few articles from the Boston papers today. They're trashing Lucic & Thornton for their misbehaviours during the playoffs. They're also saying that Thornton & Mezzaros will not be re-signed. They might make a play for either Keith Yandle or Alex Edler in order to give them some help on their defence. Chara will be 38 years old next season and his age has shown this season. They also mentionned that Brad Marchand might be traded in order to get that defenceman they need. Vancouver might be a possible trading partner if assistant-GM Jim Benning gets the GM job there.

Merlot, every US channels talked about the fact Bruins disrespected Montreal during the serie. Lucic showed us a last exemple of it wednesday. So it's not because Montreal feel insecure that we had this feeling, but just cause there really really was disrespect and sportmanship issue. It's one thing to be very very tough during the game, it's an another to disrespect an opponent. IMO some players by their misbehaviours show that they didn't deserve to wear the prestigious bruins Jersey anymore. And I'm quite sure that Boston managers, a lot of fans and probably you are not far to be agree with me now that the passion came down...

I wonder what Orr, Espo, and Bourque would have to say about this sportsmanship issue
