BOYZ,

Jets +9.5 tonight.

I cannot lose no matter what the outcome of the football game.

If the Jets cover, I will dedicate the winnings to personally covering the body of my favorite SP. ...I have jinxed the self-described "honorable" stiffer.

Anon, the Patriots did well last year with questionable corners, lost running backs, no Gronkowski, no Welker, and no Wilfork who is the rock center of the defense. Now despite the loss of Mayo and Ridley they are still well improved. Plus, the Jets just downright suck. Their offense is one of the most impotent in the NFL and their defense is going down hill. It will be a huge victory for them to keep it within 9.5 and I will take the Patriots.

So he still hasn't given you the money yet after all his alleged winnings? That's our Joe.t, not a clone. :D

You'd pick the Jets if their team plane went down in the Pacific and was never found.

I've already won this one. Too bad it was sooooooooo easy.

Cheers,

Merlot

Wrong!!!, you gave this team way too much credit, boy does their defense suck without their tackling leader Mayo(gone for the year), they gave up over 200 yds rushing to a lousy team like the Jets, you can expect their run defense to stink for the rest of the year, it should be fun to watch.

BOYZ,

BOYZ,

...boy does their defense suck without their tackling leader Mayo(gone for the year),

You mean the same defense that kept the Jets from scoring a TD until 8:58 of the 3rd quarter even though the Jets were running up 200 yards. Mayo is very good, but anyone who thinks his non-presence alone made this game turn out the way it did doesn't know football. Of course who are we talking about anyway. Joe-hot-air.t blowhorn.

Speaking of blowhorn, I'm surprised you haven't been all over the latest conspiracy theory about the refs helping the Patriots by moving Hightower out of a penalty position where he had been lined up. Hightower did not block the kick. It seems ridiculous that you cannot lineup in front of the long snapper during a field goal attempt, but as the rule goes it is. I guess we have to accept rules like that just like the old Tuck Rule...RIGHT JOE!!!

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...ets-out-of-a-win-over-the-patriots/ar-BB9Bync

Conspiracy theories swept across social media after video emerged of a ref helping the New England Patriots avoid a five-yard alignment penalty just before blocking a field goal at the end of regulation to beat the New York Jets, 27-25, on Thursday night.

But an NFL spokesman told Tom Pelissero of USA Today Sports that the ref moving Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower out of an illegal position over the center just before the snap "is a standard officiating procedure that occurs regularly."

As Folk lined up for a 58-yard attempt with five seconds remaining, Hightower took up a position just across from Jets long snapper Tanner Purdum, a five-yard penalty by NFL rules. But rather than tossing his flag, the official standing nearby grabbed Hightower's arm and appeared to instruct him to move over. Hightower promptly jumped out of the penalty zone, the ball was snapped and the rest is history.

...continued.

As explained further the ref may have interfered with a planned defensive ruse trying to throw off or intimidate blockers since nearly the entire defense shifted for better positions right before the snap as teams often do. That didn;t keep a horde of Jets whiners (soon to be followed by Joe) from acting like there was a conspiracy to help the Patriots win. Now go back and explain why the Jets had to settle for field goals early and failed a 2-point attempt.

As for the game, The Jets always play one tough game against the Patriots, sometimes winning against the odds, just like Miami often does. Geno Smith did a good job to keep from throwing his typical interceptions and the running game gave the Jets the ball for 40 minutes. It still wasn't enough. Smith failed to connect with receivers that were either open or had a better angle several times. Either he was too cautious in some cases or he can't throw accurately when pressure is on.

Thanks to VEREEN catching two TDs out of the backfield and the often absent without a catch Danny Amendola who made a great spinning dive to grab a critical TD near the end of the game when the Jets failed to hold after penalties had pushed the Patriots back from the Jets 2 or 3 to the 19. Hmmmm, where was the referees conspiracy then. I believe there were 3 penalties against New England when they were almost certain to score a TD from next to the goal line. Wasn't the conspiracy against the Patriots then.

Stop crying Jets fans...you too Joe. :thumb:

Cheers,

Merlot

PS

You're at the Chablis Joe. I guess being a Raiders fan you are used to stinky smells.

I did not get my picks in, but honestly my picks would have been Cleveland, New Orleans, Green Bay, Oakland. Not good, only 2 out of 5. Yup I was foolish enough to think the Raiders might actually fight to win against a very questionable team. I would have picked the Cowboys with them being hot largely due to their running attack giving Romo an opportunity to avoid having to heave all the time, and because the Giants are very shaky. I'm amazed that Cleveland got killed after their great victory last week, Indy, I forgot about them. No surprise there. Now the Seahawks losing to the stinking Rams. OMG! The Bengals are a sham previously exposed by the Patriots, and anyone who would pick the Panthers over the Packers must have a plate in his skull. Of course little Joe.t is addicted to flashy quarterbacks which explains the insanity. Well Joe, Rogers only had a 154.5 rating, more than double that of Cam Newton. Joe, you don't know talent.

You couldn`t even afford some of the rooms that they have, it is also a much nicer place than any dump that you ever stayed at.

First, It's stupid when you can see another great lady for the price of some rooms there. I've had two of the very best rooms, once with the fabulously gorgeous Chrystelle of the old Platinum agency. It's good for a rare expensive fantasy, and back then 7 to 8 years ago it was much fresher. But who would be dumb enough to spend excessively for rooms like that all of the time when you can have a great room at a 4-star for under $150. No, Joe doesn't do math obviously. The other problem is I went there a couple of years ago. Maybe they have cleaned it up since, but the place had a distinct stale old socks smell. Anyone who didn't notice that at the time must have had a REAL nose issue. RIGHT Joe! :thumb:

Clue up bud,

Denver -8 over San Diego.(Originally I liked the Chargers but the line has moved upward since the beginning of the week which means that bettors are putting their money on Denver so I am going with the flow).

Carolina +5 over Seattle.

Oakland +7 over Cleveland.

Arizona -3 over Philadelphia.

My sure shot pick of the week is Chicago +6.5 over the injury depleted pathetic Patriots, I have a feeling that Belichick will be going to the cheatsheat this week for some old reliable plays.

Taking my daughter shopping, dropping her off at a friends place, fresh 40 of Appleton , BBQ chicken and NFL ALL DAY.

Chicago v. New England is the most interesting game on the NFL schedule today. The Bears are the biggest underachievers in the league and the Pats have tremendously overachieved. I wonder if the worm turns on that today.

Did anyone see the Lions win today? With their best players injured and unable to play (Megatron, Fairly, Reggie Bush, their first two tight ends) the Lions came back from a 21 point half time deficit to win with a last second field goal.

Maybe Joe T. is right about the Superbowl? The Lions can go a long way if they get healthy.

Gronkowski has 8 catches so far 1st half. The Bears are paying a lot of attention to him but not able to stop or even reasonably control him so far. The Bears having lots of issues again.

The 38 points given up by the Bears today to NE are the most points allowed in a first half in Chicago Bears history. To say that the Bears sucked hippo balls in that first half would I think be an understatement. This team is imploding before our eyes.

:whoo:BOYZ,

...the Pats have tremendously overachieved. I wonder if the worm turns on that today.

HILARIOUS!!! You don't know football with that comment. The Patriots have not played any great teams so far. With that, at 5-2 they are underachieving. Last week they had only 3 full days to come up with defensive realignments after losing Mayo. Geno Smith played way above his head, evdient as they are getting murdered by Buffalo. The Patriots should have beaten the Dolphins and Kansas City just got totally away from them. New England are probably just beneath being one of the top 5 elite teams in the whole league. The Bears, with Cutler are always an accident waiting to happen against any team, never mind the Patriots.

It's 38-7 before halftime. Your analysis seems to be off...BUD!!!

My sure shot pick of the week is Chicago +6.5 over the injury depleted pathetic Patriots.

You sure you don't want to make that 60.5. BWAHAHAHAHA! If Cutler had a meltdown after a near miss last week, this week he's gonna need a damn straight jacket and lots of sedatives. DUH Bears!!! :D

"Tom Brady with 4 games with 4 1st half touchdowns, the MOST in NFL history". EAT THAT HATERS.

45-7 A healthy Gronkowski is a BEAST!!! Did you see the way he just shoved off the defender then out ran the others. :whoo: It's CLINIC TIME!!!

Good job Beavy,

Merlot

The Pats have totally overachieved before today they had no WR production and no OL but today LeFell stepped up. Edelman dropping balls last week and today. Merlot you don't know what you are talking about the Pats have overachieved so far which is mainly due to the fact that they have excellent coaching and know how to plug holes well. Talent wise they are not as good as in past years but they will be 6-2 after today. That is called overachievement and it is better than underachievement which is what the Bears are doing in a big way.

Merlot almost any NFL expert would tell you Chicago has better skill position talent on offense than NE but not doing them much good today. You need to read your NFL scouting reports better and then speak.
