Well all,

strategy error by the Rangers, with 2 outs and 1st base open, pitching to the red hot Renteria with Lincecum pitching so well.

Never been crazy about the Giants. Refused to play the 1904 Series versus the Boston Americans/Red Sox. They chickened out after the Sox surprised and embarrassed the Pirates in 1903.

GO RANGERS!

Cheers,

Merlot

Congratulations - Giants 2010 World Series Champs.

Congrats to the SF Giants, well deserved Champions.

Congratulations to the Giants on being the 3rd team to win the World Series since the steriods era ended in Baseball after the 2007 season, way to go Giants.

Where I belong.
Nice job, SF Giants. Congratulations to the entire city of San Francisco.

The first decade of the new century is now over and baseball had seen nine different champions. Only the Boston Red Sox are a two time winner. Congratulations to them as well as the Team of the Decade.

You do realize WHO the team with the most asterisked championships from the steriod's era is...right?

Unlike you I can be objective, it's a well known fact that the steroid era is considered to be from 1995 to 2007, it's a smear on baseball history, I'm all for erasing everything from the record books for this era but I know that it will never happen.

Take off your blinders and try to be objective at least once in your life, sad.

Sabathia
Lee
Greinke
Pettitte
Burnett

Hughes back in the bullpen where he was "All World" in 09 setting up for Rivera.

"Do you believe in Miracles"? NO! :)

As far as your steroid era WS Champions, if we take away the red sox 2 wins, that means their last "REAL" and "CLEAN" WS Championship would of been that most famous year of all..........1918 and now it has been 92 long years, to the Yankees 1 year...

Ok Mr.T, you want Hughes back as set up for Mo? well, what do you suggest we do with Kerry "ALLSTAR" Wood?

I would like to get Michael Kay's thoughts on sabremetrics.
ROFL-smiley14.gif

Hughes and Wood in the BP? i dont see Hughes going back to the pen anytime soon. In case you forgot, he just won 18 games and is what 24 yrs old? and only gonna get stronger... Wood was amazing, and deserves his set up roll slot in the bullpen, it is his to lose.

PS, i was troubled at first by your signature, and the lack of caring about being ahead of the plumber on the "list" anymore, but since i am still your hero, all is well my friend. 2 weeks bro! be there, no excuses!

Hughes and Wood in the bullpen right off the bat would give the Yankees the best bullpen in Baseball bar none, I would love to get Micheal Kay's thoughts on this.

REALLY...

...???

You are a funny man...LOL.

2010 season is over...you and roofus, fido, sparky or whatever his name is this week can carry on if you would like here...but I'm done dealing with you 4 after this post.

Personally I recommend the mods close the thread if it continues degrading to nothing other than you and he playing your typical bait and lure game...

BTW...2 things...
1. I differ with your self proclaimed dates of the steroid era. Here is a site with plenty of info for you to read in your spare time.
http://www.baseballssteroidera.com/
My money says every Yankees team from the '80's up were influenced by juice as was the rest of MLB. Wipes out quite a few rings. Fact is MLB allowed it, its part of history, nothing is going to change...the conversation is mute.

2. And Iggy...your statement ASSUMES that there was no juice of any type helping the '09 Yankees...we all know that there are banned substances that MLB is not currently testing for...and if you think they are not being used, YOU are walking around with blinders on...so that makes the last "clean" win by the Yankees 1978 (maybe)...or we do maybe have to go back to 1962...?

Like I said before...good season.

Have fun,

Jman

Greetings from the SF Giants Victory Parade from a lifelong Bay Area resident and loooong-suffering Giants fan

Credentials
• Went to 1958 Welcome to San Francisco parade (exact same route as today)
• Went to opening day at Seals Stadium
• Went to opening Day at Candlestick Park
• Proud owner of numerous Croix de Candlestick pins
• Went to opening day at Pac Bell Park
• Went to the disastrous game six loss to the Angels in 2002

Staked out a spot at Civic Center Plaza at 6 AM this morning. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of people had already beaten me to the punch by spending the night. First thought: Amidst the aroma of marijuana smoke, you would have thought that Proposition 19 had passed (around the state, only SF voters overwhelmingly approved it!). I TiVo’d the event so that I could get a perspective on the size of the crowds on the parade route, but people have been relatively mellow in spite of the overcrowding. The weather was flat-out awesome, about 70 degrees. The ceremony itself was both classy and folksy, with introductions of the coaching, training, and front-office staffs and each and every player (sorry Benjie, but you still get two checks and a ring) that contributed to the 2010 season, not just the postseason roster. Past Giant icons Mays and McCovey were on the stage, as were Mayor Newsom and the Governator, who of course got roundly booed. So glad that I went, even though getting through the traffic nightmare will be Hell. Thanks to my iPad and Wi-Fi, I can send this while it’s still fresh in my mind. With a payroll of tens of millions less than Meg Whitman’s failed attempt to buy an election, the underdog Giants won with great home-grown pitching/catching and a group of overperforming misfits and castoffs. Now I can cross off a SF Giants World Series victory from my bucket list! Spring training starts on February 15. Go Gigantes!

Beltre tells the Red Sox to SUCK IT !!

BOSTON -- Adrian Beltre has declined a $10 million player option that would have kept him with the Boston Red Sox next year.

The third baseman will get a $1 million buyout and becomes a free agent after just one season with the Red Sox.

The 31-year-old Beltre led the team with a .321 batting average and a career-high 49 doubles in 154 games. He hit 28 homers and tied David Ortiz for the team lead with 102 RBIs. The option increased from $5 million to $10 million in his last game because he passed the 640 plate appearances.

Boston signed him as a free agent after he hit .265 with eight homers and 44 RBIs with Seattle in 2009.

The Red Sox must decide by Thursday whether to exercise Ortiz's $12.5 million club option.

(Maybe those rumors of Beltre signing with the Blue Jays might come true after all....)

Ortiz will have his contract picked up, he has to, you have nothing left for rbi men, besides youkilis. Vlady would be a great pickup for the red sox, lets hope theo doesnt get a stroke of "genius" and grab him. Vlady playing 81 games in "that" ballpark would hit alot of baseballs out or off that high green wall in left.
