What's with girls constantly stroking their hair

I've been noticing this for a while on/off, but recently, it seems like every single girl is just constantly stroking her hair. And when I say constantly, I mean literally NONSTOP.
Its getting to the point where I get literally annoyed and lose all interest in whatever she's saying. Am I the only one to find that absolutely bizarre ?

no, not in that way. Its more like a tick. Don't know if it suggests they are wearing hair extentions but its weird, not sexy at all.

Might be a Gen Z thing... so self-conscious and insecure about themselves

I think it is just being occuart... When talking to someone, some people just don't know what to do with their hands. And when you have long hair, that can often be where they tend to fidget. Touching their hair becomes a soothing mechanism.
