Hey BOOOOOOYYYYZZZZZZZZZ!

I'm taking the Leafs bigtime over the Bruins, if you want to make some serious extra hobby money go to your bookie and take the Leafs, Joe.t guarantees this victory for the Leafs.:thumb:

Right dipstick.

I can't believe the Leafs blew a 4-1 lead.

I was watching the game off and on next to a movie when it got to 4-1 and I figured...Ovvaaaah!!! I go back and it's 4-4 OMG! Ference out...Seidenberg knocked out, and the Leafs couldn't put Boston away with a 3 goal lead. What the hell happened to the Leafs??? They played such a great tough series only to suffer the most embarrassing one game collapse in playoff HISTORY with a healthy team. I'm in shock! WOW!

Well, I still think the Leafs played great for 6 games. They were something to be PROUD of until tonight. What an EPIC disappointment for Leafs fans. Sorry Toronto. The badly beaten up Bruins were just BETTER!

Carlyle the genius decided not to go out with class. He's blaming the refs in the post game interview for ticky tack calls. Really Carlyle, who's to blame for losing a 3 goal lead very late.

Give a lot of credit to the Bruins, the key defenders had to play huge minute because of injuries while the team came back with 4 straight incredible goals.

The Curse of Joe strikes again.

He thought he would come in and be cocky. Same old knows jack Joe.

The curse of Joe.t or Leafs destiny? Hello 47.

Cheers,

Merlot

Much appreciated SK - thanks!

(And even for people who are not Wings fans, if you saw what Datsyuk and Zetterberg did to win the series against Anaheim, you'd have to be amazed by the skill and dedication of these two ageless titans of the game.)

Actually the Bruins should have won at the end of regulation when Reimer permitted a rebound to a wide open Peverly who fumbled away a wide open shot on net.

That was a horrid finish by the Leafs.

Meanwhile, the Rangers and King Henrik Lundqvist rallied from a 3-1 deficit in games to beat the Capitals 5-0 on the road in game 7.

Blaming the refs? For what? There were no penalties in the third period and the Leafs got the only power play goal of the game in the first.

Frattin had the game on his stick with a clear breakaway and couldn't put it in the net and then the Bruins come back and score twice with 1:22 left in the game to tie it. Phaneuf didn't even try to move Chara away from the front of the net before the tying goal. That was a big choke by Toronto and one hell of a show of character by the Bruins not to give up when they were down by 3 with just over 10 minutes to play.

Yup,

Carlyle really went cheap with that stuff.

James BILL BUCKNER Reimer just lay there in utter DEFEAT!

The Bruins comeback was like the 2004 ALCS at hyper speed. What an AMAZING reversal of what seemed like inevitability. Neither team will ever forget this game, but only black and gold fans will thump their chests with justified PRIDE.

Anyone know if Iggy still has a pulse.? I hear he swallowed his champagne bottle. :D

Beeerrrrrrrgerrrron!

WOW, What a game!!!!!!!! Not quite the finish i wanted, but i am sooooooooooooooo proud to be a Leafs fan these days... after years of terrible mangement, i have to say Burke has set this team up for years to come, with playoff hockey and cup runs, and hopefully a Stanley! I never expected the youngest team in the playoffs to take boston to game 7 and they can only grow from this and they will under a great coach in Randy Carlyle...... It was a great season for Leafs Nation and the future looks extremely bright, and I cant wait for October!

Rangers and bruins should be a barn burner of a series as they say. The Leafs did a job physically on the bruins and left them weak for the Rangers, who should come out hitting everything in sight if they want to advance on.

Pens vs Blackhawks for the Cup.

PS, any season the Leafs go further than the habs is a victory of sorts, thats 2 years in a row now, next year will w/o a doubt be the 3rd in row :D

Wow thx, that's a great honnor to be such a reference... But to go further than an another team, you have to go to a next round...

The Leafs made a Profesional misconduct tonight, nothing to be proud about...

Nice serie anyway...

Rangers, Ottawa, Bruins... It seems we will have to wait for the Pitt/Chic Finale to see good hockey again...

Good team or Bad team, the Leafs always find a way to stay the laughing stock of the NHL... :thumb:

maybe in france they dont count the same way but here 2 more games played means having done better, gone further, and the only laughing stock was carey price and the mtl defense lol........ nobody and i mean nobody thought the Young Leafs would do much against the bruins, but there they were down 3 games to 1 and ended up taking it to a game 7 overtime, nothing bad about that at all. Pretty impressive by anyone who understands the chances given the Leafs by the experts in this series. Even Lucic gave props to the Leafs, the city of Toronto, and Leafs Fans after the game, which was classy on his part.

Anyways, back to REAL hockey talk here please. Funny stuff in the FFA thread, thats what its for, merci :thumb:

Toronto Sun Cover Proclaims ‘The Choke’s on Us’ After Maple Leafs Blow Three-Goal Lead Against Bruins (Photo) by Dan Duquette Jr. on Mon, May 13, 2013 at 11:18PM

The Toronto Maple Leafs looked assured of advancing to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs after taking a three-goal lead against the Bruins in the third period of Monday’s Game 7. Somehow, they didn’t. The city’s first playoff team in nine years is instead heading home after losing 5-4 to the Bruins in overtime, thanks to four unanswered Boston goals. Maple Leafs goalie James Reimer made 30 saves and played well, but he couldn’t hold down the fort during a frantic final minute that gave the B’s new life. Instead of gearing up for their next game, Toronto fans are now left figuring out how it all went wrong, and the Toronto Sun isn’t pulling any punches in its analysis of the team’s “epic collapse.” Check out what the Sun is splashing on the front page of its sports section on Tuesday below.

Just like the New York Post in 2004. :D ;)

Wow,

A loss in the first round is considerd a success in this sorry town. One round of hockey in 9 long years and they think they 've accomplished something. They blow a 3 goal lead in less than 10 minutes and they still find something positive in it.Choke of the century.47 and still counting.Phaneuf cost his team at least 2 games.Grabovsky was the real ballwerina he is known for.

Other headlines :

Vancouver sun : " Maple Leafs sunk !"

Winnipeg free press : "The Leafs exit from the playoffs was another 18-wheeler going right off a cliff"

And hot from the Boston Globe :
Dion Phaneuf who looked like someone who had just been slapped in the face said : "It's probably the toughest loss I've ever had in Hockey"

Geez guys, when did this become the free for all thread? I see like 3 suspensions in here, unreal.

Sorry to burst your bubbles boyzzz but i am ofton up late, working on some biz but thanks for caring lol..... I always take the good out of the bad and i am very happy for the season, there were ups and downs, but in the end it was a stepping stone to make the playoffs and that was the goal. But to take likely the best team in the east, having played them tooth and nail and put a scare into them where they could actually lose to us was icing on the cake and the kids grew up alot in the last 7 games and it will only help moving forward. I congratulate them all, they played with pride, guts and sacrifice for each other, just what NHL hockey is all about this time of year. The sun rose today, no grey clouds here and i am thankful for the amazing moments the youngest team in the playoffs provided to Leafs Nation, had they been an experienced team i would not feel this way, but with youth comes mistakes and i am ok with that.... GLG!

PS, being down 3 games to 1, who really thought it would go to a game 7 overtime? None of us did, for that alone gives the young Leafs valuable experience going forward, there is always a positive in a negative situation, and this will be no different. Very proud of the TML today, went thru something similiar on a team that was very young and lost, then came back to win it all a year later. (not that i expect the Leafs to do that, give em 2 years) :)

Hello everyone,

I find it necessary once again to warn people that this is not a Free For All thread.

While I will allow a certain level of good natured ribbing in this thread, I will not allow anyone to start a flame war. This is the only warning I will give in this thread. Anyone who insists on ignoring it will be suspended for the remainder of the playoffs. Take it to the Free For All thread.

A number of post have been removed.

Phaneuf can do no right in many ppls eyes, he has the movie star gf, the looks, the style and is the Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs = Jealousy. But truth be told, i would hate to see this team w/o him on defense. He is ALOT better than the haters think, and even i think they do know he is very good, but again that J word is a killer.

Grabo = the energizer bunny who keeps going and going and going... heart and soul of the Leafs in those 7 games and if you think he stinks you need to give your head a shake or 20.... the stats dont always show who played the best and Grabo was a warrior this postseason.

Good guys, good players, both of them.... Grabo had an off regular season but if he brings that intensity and drive he had in these 7 postseason games, look out in 2014.

Wow,

Phaneuf cost his team at least 2 games.Grabovsky was the real ballwerina he is known for.
