he could end it and negotiate about the wall itself, but he would rather do the damage.

At this point, right or wrong the President is all in and will dig in for a long battle. Politically he is so involved with the wall that he has no choice but to see this through. If in the end he doesn't get a wall he will at least get the support of his base which is probably more important politically than the completion of a wall. Especially if a reelection is being thought about.

Look behind you.
How does comparing one POS to the other POS stop either from still being a POS?
Simple really, every politician is a POS.

I understand that but people here in Canada are more concerned with Trump while Trudeau is doing far more damage in a different way... Does not seem to bother most here.

I'm not sure there is much evidence it is helping him with his base, though. That core, core group already loves him at high levels, and shit like this doesn't expand that base. Instead you have people who voted for him and supported him complaining how he is "hurting the wrong people".

The problem is that he isn't capable of negotiating a win-win deal. There is no "seeing it through" that doesn't involve escalation. Anyone competent would negotiate a way where he gets something he can point to and the democrats get something they can point to. That was the whole point of the deal proposed last year, but he and the hard core anti-immigrant crew tanked it at the last minute. So since for him he has to win by showing you lost, no one has any reason to negotiate with him. He has one piece of leverage, which is that he doesn't care if people suffer and die, and he doesn't care about the US working well or being a good country to live in. The Democrats actually are worried about the damage this is doing and it is possible Trump wins just by destroying enough lives.

It's an ugly, ugly situation.

That is exactly why he went bankrupt so many times. Trumpet does not care about win-win. He wants Win-Lose. He enjoys winning only if you lose. Winning at all cost. The end justify all means. Doc Holliday said many times about the fucking damage this ass hole will do.

By the way today he received some basketball team at the WH. Important meeting... Gladly receiving them with big mac's. Great american food he said. Make america great again. Make america fat as hell ya.

Cheers,

By the way that was yesterday. By the way it was a football team. By the way the college kids were happy as hell and carried much of the food home.

Haha ok ok I admit I got a few things wrong. But men being happy to serve cold fast food... Really? And they brought it home! Fuck it's worst then I tough.

Sorry for getting too personal, but what kind of food did you usually eat at college? Was it mostly caviar or did you occasionally settle for foie gras?

What I am trying to say is I would never ever received anyone with big macs! Or course I eat some once in a while. Of course my kids wants to go there once in a while. But being proud to serve that to guest? No fucking way! It has nothing to do with being an elitist it has to do with respect for who you are receiving. Cold hamburgers taste like shit. Cultivating that shit by trying to sell it as good american food is a disgrace to all the amazing great cook america as produced over the last few years.

And what I am trying to say is that there are obviously some legitimate things to criticize Trump for. But when people choose instead to talk about this fast food reception (clearly meant and perceived as good fun by all in the room), it only serves to demonstrate their bias.

I agree, but unfortunately the POS over there affects all of us here and the rest of the world , while our POS is just hurting us so in a way people here are justified in being concerned.

Just my opinion but the media here is pumping us full of Trump shit so we do not notice the Trudeau shit happening. Correct to bitch about Trump but to not be concerned what is happening in our own backyard.
And the post above clearly shows what is happening.

True but by now anyone following this forum perfectly knows my bias towards him. It's not like I have hide it! haha

I have said many times over Trump the human being represent absolutely everything I dislike in a human. He is a bully, a liar, a over confident big head and someone who's egotism level is unparalleled. He went into politic just to prove he could. He managed to be-friend with communist leader while alienating his long time allies.

Beyond his stupid smile, his orange skin and strange hair I see a very dangerous men for America.

All true. But people who've known Trump since the 80's will tell you that they've known for decades what he was a narcissist sociopath. Not much has changed. It's just that people who know him from his Apprentice days believed (including myself) that he was the character he portrayed on the tv show. We even bought the b.s. that he was a self-made billionaire. Today we learn that his bankrupted company after company & that his late father bailed him out several times by giving him up to $400 million to do so. I'm not even sure anymore that Trump is a billionaire. Is owing more than he owns really make him a billionaire??

^^^^^^ This is what is happening, Canadians are outraged at Trump ( right wing ) and that the Americans voted for him but do not even care that a left wing is ruining " their " country. The people of the USA will be far better off than the people of Canada in the future. Do not give two fucks about Trump being an ass, no major catastrophe has happened, people are working, the media is making a ton of money..... Yeah, kind of sucks being an American now.
Our Canadian children will be suffering a lot more that the US kids in the future, that is for sure.

You bet! Many can't sleep at night, I am sure. Thank you for a good laugh!

You think Trump has *no* leverage then? I mean, people already blame him for the wall. If you don't think the Democrats care about how this hurts people, then this is the stupidest thing he can do, right? He gets the blame, and they will never give in because they don't care about any of it. If you really believed this, you would be begging him to cave, wouldn't you?

He went into politic just to prove he could.

No, he has wanted to be president for 20 years or so. Remember when he tried to become the Reform party candidate in 2000? And he tested the waters with runs in 2008 and 2012 as well, but backed out when it looked bad. It's not like he did this on a whim.

@Doc - I mean, there is the famous "Art of Being the Donald" lawsuit a decade ago, where Trump sued an author who claimed Trump was worth only a few hundred million and lost dramatically. (Including the bit where he says his worth changes according to his mood that day.) But Forbes, having been burned by him repeatedly, tends to vet him pretty well. The Apprentice made him big again, and his licensing deals were worth a lot. They put him at about a third of what he claims (he says 10 billion, they say 3.1) and I'm inclined to think it is more or less true. (And he is probably pocketing a lot in indirect bribes now as president.)

How is the Left Wing "ruining" the country, STN?
