Good luck on the leafs getting him out of Detroit. It would be a nice fit in Toronto, but he seems happy or there. Time will tell.

I agree that he'd be a great fit with the Leafs. Many wonder why he hasn't yet been signed to an extension. It wouldn't surprise me if Detroit doesn't have the money he wants & knows he could get elsewhere....like in Toronto. Since he's a McGill Redmen alumni, maybe he figured he could coach the habs if they faltered this season & Michel Therrien was canned. Ooops! Not possible, since Babcock doesn't speak french.

As the article stated, Babcock may also be looking at having more influence in player personnel decisions, which may not be possible in Detroit given the current hierarchy.

And finally, i still believe that Tim Leiweke had an ulterior motive when he decided to court Brendan Shanahan. Many with more experience could have been given the position, but he chose Shanahan, of all people. Shanahan has ties to both Detroit & Mike Babcock. Sure, he might have influence around the NHL. But something tells me that Leiweke had Babcock in mind when he hired Shanny.

Time will tell what happens in the long run, but Holland didn't exactly give Babcock a huge vote of confidence when he said recently that Babcock was just 'one of the best coaches in the NHL'. Many would be in agreement that he may simply be the best around.

panthere, why are you with the bruins on this serie against Canadiens ? Bruins humiliated your team last year and no doubt they would do exactly the same in a Boston-Pitts conf finale...

You would have your chance in a Habs-Ping conf finale and probably a 10times more beautiful game, with a lot of speed, technical gestuires and talent...

They haven't put a puck in the net in 2 full games. Not a good recipe for winning.

Between them, and the Mets these days ? :noidea::

Damn, this thread is so calm when Canadiens win !!!

Claude Julien's snivelling about officials worked tonight, they only get 2mn, but that wasn't enough this time..

Great game anyway, CH won with his brain tonight...

Yes, congratulations. You've stopped your sniveling racist accusation crap. In an interview even PK was classy saying on the subject that Boston and it's fans were great. Take a lesson from him. Don't make sniveling dumb innuendos.

It's inexcusable. If it was a Red Sox game they would be kicked out and banned. Racists went over the top. They represent Racists, not Boston or any other city.

In this post you clearly denounced there were inexcusable racism facts against PK. Which was obvious.

BOYZ,

In this post you clearly denounced there were inexcusable racism facts against PK. Which was obvious.

I denounced the cowardly, the faceless, the ignorant on twitter who aren't real hockey fans but had to jump in with their racism to taint this series with their sickness, meaning they and their sickness have no place.

Oh ok... Then it can't be due to racism....

Things are quite simple about Subban, guys.

1/ THat's not because you hate him that you are racist.

2/ But the fact he is the only very good black player and that he is the more booing in the league, shows that there must be a part of racism in it. What have been written before the match on social media prove it

3/ But even if you don't like him, the way he is harassed by some racists could prevent you to say dirty thing about him. And more important, you shouldn't try to deny the obvious fact he is victim of racism.

You have taken shots to keep on tainting the games with innuendos that Boston fans are racist, which is as STUPID as saying all Montreal fans are pyromaniac psycho thugs and vandals because of the previous riots. I find it cowardly that YOU have to keep using this taint at all. When questioned about the racist tweets PK Subban said:

http://www.bruinsdaily.com/2014/05/03/pk-subban-responds-to-racist-tweets/

...This is the first time and probably the last time I’ll talk about it. First things first, the Boston Bruins are an Original Six franchise. They’ve been around for a very long time. They’re respected. It’s completely unfair for anybody to point the finger at the organization or the fan base. They have passionate fans here, a great fan base. Since I’ve been in the league, it’s been awesome. I’ve come to Boston many times, and my family has come here, it’s been great.

What people may say on Twitter and social media is not a reflection by any means of the league or of the Boston organization.
Whoever that is, they’ll get dealt with. But it’s completely separate from this league or the Boston Bruins organization.

I know some of those players personally on that team. Like I said, the fan base has been awesome. They’re a great bunch of fans, and it’s unfortunate when things take away from the great hockey that was played two days ago [in Game 1]. It was a fantastic game — great for the league, great for hockey, and that’s what we’re going to talk about.

So I’m happy now that we can just move on.

You man77777 need help. When you can't talk hockey and have to fall back on ugly accusations to make yourself feel better you need help. At least PK showed all the class in the world on this issue. The booing is because of the rivalry and because PK is a huge part of it just like the Boston fans go after Kessel. When you say it's because PK is Black you show you are the problem.

PK is also cheap at times with the dives and dirty tricks like knocking the net off of it's mounts last night just as the Bruins were charging in to try to tie the game in the last minutes. It's cheap shit like that which gets attention...yet some race-bating faceless Montreal fan has to say fans boo louder at PK because he's black.

Grow up bud...HE'D BE DISGUSTED WITH YOU!,

Well... I must say that my first reaction was to laugh at your over-reaction. It's just a sport thread, Merlot. Really doesn't deserve such over-reaction, even if your team lose 2-1, even if someone desagree with you, even if someone point out your contradictions.... Come on, let me tell you my guess : 4-3 Boston , and one thing is sure, hockey and the 2teams will be the great winners of this serie.

Of course I never said that all the Boston fans were racists, but that behind the boo, some of the fans were racists. And btw the conversation we had was mainly about the boo in the entire league. As Subban is booed all over the league I don't see the point to only focus on Boston case... (The only link was that what happened on social media appears before the beginning of the serie against Boston.)

So yes, I think that some of the boos at Subban are due to racism. Do I need help for thinking it ? I don't think so, unless you know a 18yo hottie who can help me... ;)

With a non existent power play, it looks like it may be over for the Rangers this year ?

Here's hoping we make a turnaround !
