Have any of you guys noticed that Tuuka Rask speaks almost perfect English albeit with an Anglo-Canadian accent? This guy is from Finland or was he raised by Anglo Canadian foster hockey parents?

Guys from North and East of Europe are gifted in learning languages. Not like us (guys from center and south of Europe) who can't even speak english correctly !

Btw, a big sorry for all the horrible grammatical errors I make you read, posts after posts ! I't's hard to defend my point with my poor english, but a good training for my job,,,

Funiest goal of the year / monumentale consequences. This beautiful serie deserved a more sparkling turning point...

Incredible Rask. Bruins were tougher and more patient, and get lucky at the end.

Turning point !

Great game, on both sides of the rink. A goal is a goal is a goal, no matter how the puck got in the net.

This game showed how Montreal can play Boston at their own game. The refs were terrific in letting them play.

Looking forward to Saturday. Should be a good one.

Montreal school cancels Habs Jersey Day........Typical Montreal!!!

Elementary schools in Canada take the Boston Bruins-Montreal Canadiens rivalry very, very seriously. According to CBC News, a Montreal grade school had planned to host a Canadiens jersey day on Thursday to support the home team as they take on the Bruins in Game 4, but ultimately decided to cancel it to prevent students from wearing B’s gear and inciting trouble. “We don’t think it’s prudent for a student to wear a Boston Bruins jersey in a school during this very intensive playoff play,” English Montreal School Board spokesman Mike Cohen told the CBC. “At this stage in the game, with the Canadiens leading the series 2-1, why ignite things, why create a controversy.” CBC reports the decision was made after a parent complained that an 11-year-old girl was told to remove her Bobby Orr shirt on a previous jersey day. The girl’s father, Tony Pasquale, wasn’t the one who complained to the school, but he told CBC News his daughter felt left out when she was told to ditch the Black and Gold. “She’s been a Boston Bruins fan all her life, so she kinda felt really bad. She felt kind of excluded from the school,” Pasquale said. The only way to rectify this situation might be to let this Bruins diehard wear her Orr shirt to school every day if Boston eliminates the Habs.

That is hilarious SpecialK, way to promote healthy competition and team spirt in todays youth, .........NOT!

Anyways, I just think the way Pitt is playing right now, the Cup is their's to lose at this point, although LA looks to have found their game as well and you cannot count out Chicago either....... With that said, watch Minnesota win it all

Special K, I saw a lot of Bruins' jersey in Montreal during the serie. It takes a lot of naivety not to see that some medias try hard to make people think that the rival city is full of stupidity by focusing on every events that could possibly make the ignorant think it's true. And when you really want to believe it, you finally believe it.

When you see such things on medias, you have 2choices :
1/ you perfectly know that there is the same amont of asshole in every city over the world and then forget it
2/ you really want to believe it and have an agenda and then tell to yourself "great, I think that post it on merb will be a good way to dirty Montreal ! And maybe should I add "typical Montreal !" to make it more clear !":cheer2:

BOYZ,

NO. I've played and I can avoid the posts better than that, especially to avoid injury with those heavy metal posts. Self-preservation alone should have kept him from hitting it with the directness he had, unless he felt it was worth the risk...ie...with the game on the line.

What are the odds of being scored on from a face-off versus a penalty shot...it's a huge difference.

To me it's anything purposely against the rules. I didn't call it a cheap shot, but it sure was a cheap play.

Note to 77777, I agree with Ballsamic. How much do Canadiens fans hate Marchand? About equal to how Bruins fans hate PK. No race involved either way. BTW: noting some of the posts in this thread, there's a lot more bile Canadiens fans have shown against Chara, Lucic, and others than that against PK. Plus we don't boo national anthems or call those who do anti-American. We understand doing so is passion...and... TOTAL LACK OF CLASS AND CHARACTER.

Yes, but hard hitting hockey is not "dirty". Using sticks, elbows, knees, blades in any way improper with the intention of injury is dirty.

Regarding the questionable move SK referred to that PK made in an earlier game to dodge a hit, I have to disagree that this was dirty or cheap. Any player has a perfect right to avoid a hit as long as he doesn't use anything improperly to do so. I didn't see that in the video.

If a team must fail you fail with what brought you here. Yes, make some adjustments where necessary, but don't try to turn into something you're not.

The Canadiens have succeeded in taking Boston off it's game and exploiting opportunities. But without a hot Price........................

The Canadiens fans shouldn't get to excited if they win this series. Just like Red Sox v Yankees it's no more than bragging points without the trophy. As people said the Canadiens match up well against the Bruins, other teams left...NOT.

Cheers.

Merlot

So you played hockey and that is supposed to impress me. What year were you drafted, before or after Subban? Just to let you know, nets were adjusted, in order to prevent injuries. In other words, they can easily come off it's mooring and Subban, as far as I know never got injured on the play.

I suppose the Bruins had a better shot of tying the game with a penalty shot than a face-off in the Canadiens end. Sounds pretty desperate to me

for a Bruins fan.

Tonight WAS a hard hitting game but what I did see is Chara stick it to Gallagher because the big fella was frustrated with the little fella. And Marchand, I won't even go there.
Dirty as you pointed out yourself.

Taking a team off their game means they are being out played.

Lastly, you have conceded the series by saying that Canadien fans shouldn't get to excited if they win this series. Just to let you know,

the series is tied. Some Bruin's fan you are. Geez

And shame on the Habs and Leafs for not signing Orr when both teams had him on their radar screen! Especially the Leafs, because Orr played in Toronto's back yard! No wonder the Leafs have not won a cup since Orr was signed by the Bruins!

In the early 60's, all of Boston, Toronto, Montreal and Detroit were interested in 13-year old Bobby Orr. The Bruins in fact decided to literally stalk the kid by first sponsoring his minor hockey team in Parry Sound, and then buying majority ownership in the Ottawa Generals when they found out the then 14-year old Orr wanted to play his junior hockey in Oshawa. The Bruins owned the Niagara Falls Flyers at the time & would have preferred having him on that team, but he would have none of it.

Orr had by then decided on signing with the Bruins. Of course, the near-stalking of the teenager didn't hurt also. However, just prior to joining the Generals, there was a falling out between the Bruins and Orr and he went back home to Parry Sound. The Bruins hit the panic button and were afraid to lose him, so they put out all stops and headed back to Parry Sound to patch things up & literally agree to all his (and his father's) demans.

Shortly after, 14-year old Bobby Orr joined the Oshawa Generals and soon after signed the infamous 'C' form, which at the time made Orr the property of the Bruins for the rest of his career if they chose once he turned 18. Not much different than slavery, many players complained about at the time which later caused them to unionize and help bring about the NHLPA led by lawyer/player agent Alan Eagleson.

So it's unfair to say that the Leafs, Habs & Red Wings didn't want Bobby Orr. They did. The Bruins simply made a better pitch & the Orr family chose the Bruins. That must have been quite a lot of pressure for a then 13-year kid and his family from a small town in cottage country.

BOYZ!

Sounds pretty desperate to me for a Bruins fan.

From calm and respectful....to twisting, and desperate. Why the change bud!!! ;)

Why did I watch the game? Spending a minute reading your silly twists says it all. Yeah it sucks for you LOSING to the Bruins, but 10 times so with the winning goal by a totally unknown kid cut off from the net by 3 Canadiens players and the goalie, still scoring the overtime winner after being just called up the day before. Now that SUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taking a team off their game means they are being out played.

Describes last night perfectly.

Tonight WAS a hard hitting game but what I did see is Chara stick it to Gallagher..

ie...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

So you played hockey and that is supposed to impress me.

It's hilarious that you would use the idiotic excuse that a professional NHL player can't avoid a post a once in a while off the street guy can...and you think you fooled anyone.

the series is tied.

Deal with it without the bonfire car-b-cue.

It takes a lot of naivety not to see that some medias try hard to make people think that the rival city is full of stupidity by focusing on every events that could possibly make the ignorant think it's true.

You mean like the previous frequent Montreal vandalism, bonfires, burning cars, attacks on Bruins fans...and the booing of the U.S. national anthem were made up by the media??? How could anyone be stupid enough to think these happen in Montreal.

2/ you really want to believe it and have an agenda and then tell to yourself "great, I think that post it on merb will be a good way to dirty Montreal ! And maybe should I add "typical Montreal !" to make it more clear !"

Change Montreal to Boston and the above is a perfect fit for the agenda you've shown.

Things are quite simple about Subban, guys.

1/ THat's not because you hate him that you are racist.

2/ But the fact he is the only very good black player and that he is the more booing in the league, shows that there must be a part of racism in it.

Kind of like the same way ignorant Montreal fans believe that all Bruins fans boo Subban because he's black? You must get dizzy spinning in all of your circles 77777.

Never think nor said that all the bruins fan boo Subban cause they're racist. The way Merlot and you try to make me say what I didn't say is a proof of weakness and perfidy (well perfidy is a bit strong, but I can't find any other english words lol)

And btw, I like Boston City, people were great with me everytime I went there (nicer than in NY, Chi, LA or Toronto) especially when they knew I was an european guy and a connoisseur of beers. I met my ex gf in Provincetown and I bet 70$ at 7/1 on bruins to win the Stanley Cup !
