Au contraire, the City of Brotherly Love is like my second home now.

If someone dropped the Liberty Bell on your head, you would have no idea where it came from and you'd think the crack in the bell came from hitting your noggin. I would say there is a better chance of running into you at a Blue Jays game than a Flyers or Phillies game.

Other from disliking anything that has to do with Pittsburgh (note the letter 'h'), i would likely still cheer for the Senators in that series. They're a team that faced & conquered adversity throughout the entire season, has suffered devastating injuries to their top players, managed to make the playoffs, have a very good & likeable coach in Paul MacLean, they have a good combination of youth, veterans & toughness, very good goaltending, and best of all: THEY TOTALLY DESTROYED THE MONTREAL CANADIENS.

p.s. I never liked the Penguins' owner anyway. Arrogant prick with a big, swollen head! He can lick my ass & suck my cock, as far as i'm concerned. By the way, what kind of name for a franchise is Penguins anyway? Why did the chose the world's most incompetent bird as its team name??

Agree about Pinguin's name..

The way Mc Lean talked about Eller's injury show he is not "likeable", but he is probably a good coach...

Senators play the hockey nobody wants to see. Penguins are going to punish them..

Damn, Pytesbourgues 1st and Canadiens 2nd of the conf, it must have been a hard season for you... Thx god, Andersonfire and the Toronto's officials pulled Montreal out of the playoffs after a mixed of "Twin Peaks" and "Monty Python" Serie... :D

Man7777, as long as the habs got knocked out of the playoffs, i'm a happy man! I don't care if the Flyers were out of the playoffs, i don't care that much if Boston knocked the Leafs out of the playoffs (actually, the Leafs knocked themselves out & i do care)...as long as the habs are no longer in the playoffs.

Pens suck, Sens rock!!

p.s. Paul MacLean was right on when he talked about Eller's injury. Raphael Diaz (Number 61) was as responsible for Eller's injury as Gryba's clean check was. 90% of hockey fans (including die-hard habs fans i know) and media types saw Gryba's hit as a clean check, and that's how i immediately saw it also. Sure, he got a 2-game suspension for it, but it's because of the end-result (Eller's series-ending injury) and not the 'hit' itself. Had he been named Karlsson or Alfredsson instead of Gryba, there likely would not have been a suspension. It shouldn't even have been a penalty. If so, two minutes at the most.

Weird way to see sport. You just care about the team you hate. It's probably linked to a specific kind of personality...

You dont even realize how valorizing it is to be so important in the eyes of the opponents' fans. Moreover, when the franchise you hate is the one who won the more Stanley Cup in the history, then the reason of your hatred become really obvious : Jealousy...

I hope for you that one day, someone will hate the Leafs and not just laugh at them...

The Leafs played their hearts out and being so young they crumbled, nothing to be ashamed of for that, youth makes mistakes but they showed the heart and character of a team thats on the rise coming back from 3 games to 1 to force a game seven. It was a good learning exp and only good things will come of it. The Canadiens were humiliated, bullied, scared and Ottawa's punching bag overall in the series. I gladly take the exit we got versus the way the habs were manhandled, anyday. (and so would any honest fan in here) If 2nd overall gets you bitchslapped out of the playoffs in 5 weak games, than keep it as your claim to fame for the season. ;)

They sure do, they can hold their heads high for the way they took it to the bruins as a whole, while the habs went out with their tails between their legs....
Oh yeah they showed a lot of character in game 7... NO doubt, the Leafs have winners' balls and character ! LoooL

SELKE FINALISTS

What a fabulous group of finalists for this prestigious award:

1. Pavel Datsyuk - The most skilled hockey player in the world and, with the retirement of Nick Lidstrom, the most respected player in the NHL. A guaranteed first ballot Hall of Famer. A magician with (or even without!) the puck.2 Stanley Cups. 4 Lady Byngs. 3 Selkes. A key factor in Detroit's knocking off Anaheim to make it into round 2 of this year's playoffs.

2. Patrice Bergeron - 1 Stanley Cup. 1 Selke. A key factor in Boston's amazing, mind-boggling history-making game 7 comeback knocking Toronto right out of the playoffs and propelling Boston into round 2.

3. Jonathan Toews - 1 Stanley Cup. 1 Conn Smythe. A key factor not only every time Chicago plays but also every time JT plays in WORLD competition.

These are three hockey players that any TRUE hockey fan admires!

What can i say? I'm not being hypocritical about it: I HATE THE HABS. I always did, and i likely always will.

p.s. I also hate the Yankees & the Red Sox.

As for me, I don't hate the Leafs anymore (like I posted in the other thread) since they bring an essential part in the NHL wich is laughter.
There's too much violence nowadays so I think we all need some laughter or drama (depending on which side you are).

As for the 2013 year in NHL, so far we got the "bug-eyed fat walrus" quote and the "epic collapse" as no.1 and 2 most entertaining moments.

So lets see what will be the next one !

Bozzzzzton - Rangerzzzzzz...

Liked the game.
Bergeron served a perfect one to Marchand and it's 1-0 Boston.

Good stuff !

And in the western, LA might wrap this one up to make 2-0.

After stupid dumba$$ Torres got suspended for the remainder of the serie Tuesday, I prefer they get booted out by LA.
That POS should be out from the NHL altogether.

Hey Guys,

http://www.csnne.com/blog/bruins-talk/haggertys-thoughts-bruins-rangers-game-1

Here are five thoughts from the first period of Game 1 of the Bruins/Rangers second round playoff series with the Bruins and Blueshirts locked in a scoreless tie at TD Garden after the first 20 minutes.

1) Matt Bartkowski, Torey Krug and Dougie Hamilton all in the lineup, and showing their strengths and weaknesses. While Hamilton has looked slightly shaky in the first period, all three have shown their young skating legs and their ability to make plays in the offensive zone. That is one distinct advantage that the young trio of defensemen have over the injured veteran trio of Dennis Seidenberg, Andrew Ference and Wade Redden. Both Krug and Hamilton had shots on net in the first period that created rebounds in front with no forwards nearby to pounce on them.

2) Bruins dead even with the New York Rangers in the blocked shot category after one period: both teams with 10, and no surprise that Johnny Boychuk is leading the way for the Bruins. He leads the B’s with 30 blocked shots in seven-plus playoff games, and is one of only two Boston players in double digits in shots blocked during the playoffs. If the Bruins block as many shots as the Rangers throughout the series they’re at least breaking even in the effort battle.

3) Very sleepy period with the Bruins gaining some steam as things went on after one shift where Dougie Hamilton fired a shot from the right point that Henrik Lundqvist couldn’t completely absorb. The puck was underneath him, but the New York defense managed to wrangle Lucic before he King Henrik could cover up in the crease. Eleven saves for Lundqvist in the first period, but not a lot of side-to-side passing for the Bruins to get him moving from post to post.

4) Matt Bartkowski with 8:17 of ice time, and joins Zdeno Chara and Johnny Boychuk as the three Bruins players with the most ice time in the first period. It’s pretty apparent that he’s now in Claude Julien’s Circle of Trust as a playoff performer, and rightfully so. He’s been solid in all zones and changes things a bit for the Bruins with his ability to quickly skate the puck up the ice.

5) Michael Del Zotto takes a shot to the side of the head at the end of the first period, and looked wobbly as he went off to the New York dressing room for repairs. Expect a lot more attrition in this series where bodies are going to be dropping left, right and center. Still waiting for the intensity to get ratcheted up a couple of notches, as both teams are being careful right now.

Here are five thoughts from the second period of Game 1 of the Bruins/Rangers second round playoff series with the Bruins and Blueshirts locked in a 1-1 tie at TD Garden after the first 20 minutes.

1) Weak play by Tyler Seguin at the end of the second period on a chance to clear a puck in the closing seconds in the defensive end. Instead he allows Rick Nash to win the battle, and get the puck to Ryan McDonagh, who fires a shot through traffic to tie things up with roughly a second to go in the clock. That’s a killer goal allowed by the Bruins, and a soft serve ice cream kind of play from Seguin. That’s just not good enough in the playoffs, and it’s a backbreaking goal allowed by the Black and Gold.

2) Five hits apiece for Zdeno Chara and Milan Lucic in the first two periods. They’re bringing the heavy lumber, and the Bruins have matched the Rangers in blocked shots through two periods. The intensity and the physical commitment is there, but the momentum is gone going into the final 20 minutes.

3) Rare sloppy goal allowed by Henrik Lundqvist when he couldn’t handle the knuckle puck from Zdeno Chara in the high slot, and then appeared to knock the puck in on his own when he couldn’t find it in the crease.

4) Good board work from Nathan Horton and a nice pass from David Krejci set up Zdeno Chara’s goal. That line continues to get the job done, and Krejci now has 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) in the playoffs.

5) Three shots, three hits, a goal and 14 plus minutes of primo defensive play from Ryan McDonagh in the first two periods. He is playing the best hockey of his career, and has been impressive in this one after helping hold down Alex Ovechkin in the last series.

*****

BOSTON -- Here are five thoughts from the third period with the Bruins and Rangers tied at 2-2 after 60 minutes in Game 5, and headed for overtime at TD Garden.

1) Great games for Matt Bartkowski, Torey Krug and Dougie Hamilton in a big spot against the Rangers. They certainly can be exploited in their own end, but all three are very good offensive players and both Krug and Hamilton proved that on his power play goal. Bartkowski's open ice hit on Rick Nash after he lost his stick was a thing of beauty.

2) Johnny Boychuk hit a post right at the end of regulation as the Bruins couldn't get the difference-maker in the third period.

3) Huge blocked shot by Dan Girardi at the end of the third period on a long rebound to Tyler Seguin all alone in the slot. A Zdeno Chara blast created the Henrik Lundqvist rebound that slid right to No. 19.

4) The game finally opened up after a pair of choppy, careful periods from both teams.

5) Dare I say that Henrik Lundqvist looks human right now? He's getting fooled on some shots, and the Bruins are getting good traffic in front of the net.

6) Game 1 OT from these two evenly matched teams? Who woulda thunk it?

It was a nice win for the Bruins, and they dominated the Rangers in overtime. Still, I worry about their defensive injuries entering this series and their depth vulnerability to more possible injuries, especially in a long series.

Happy playoffs...fans, :D

What a beaut he is, if only he can stay healthy he might one day break one or 2 records but the game is much more physical these days than when the Great 1 played.

Im afraid when I see Chris Neil closed to him...

Finish at 3-4 after being so dominated and making so many antisports actions : there is really something wrong with NHL...

I was listening to "the scrum" on TSN 690 Montreal today and Chris Nilan hit the nail on the head when he said EVERY TEAM and their FANBASE would LOVE to have a big, tough, physical, yet skilled team like Boston, LA and what the Leafs are heading towards. He went on to call it envy when fans say they "hate" teams like them because of those first 3 listed...... I could not agree more Knuckles!
