Today news came out that the Arizona Coyotes are in the process of purchasing land in the Phoenix area in order to build an arena. But will the city agree to cover the cost of the arena using taxpayers money? It’s starting to look like the team is destined to play in that 5000-seat capacity arena for years! What a joke & so sad at the same time since they’ve become one of the best young teams in the league! Move the franchise to a city who will support & appreciate a good young NHL team!

Yeah it is sad, mostly for the players. I have to admit, it’s not a good time for any public administration to justify such an investment in the eyes of the tax payers.

Ottawa/Rangers was also a very exciting game last night! Can’t wait for their tilt against the Leafs tomorrow evening in Kanata!
The Leafs announced that veteran defenceman John Klingber’s season is over & he’ll be undergoing hip surgery in a few weeks. His cap hit is $4.15 million and the cap relief will help them try to get a right-shot veteran defenceman or two to help out with the current injuries on defence & much-needed defensive improvement. They were trying to trade for Zadorov & Tanev of Calgary two weeks ago but they didn’t have much cap space to work with & Calgary wasn’t interested in keeping half of their cap space money. So Zadorov was traded to rival Vancouver.

Oilers..wow....they are back....5th consecutive win ....and 6-1 vs CANES last night....McDavid is again on fire...and what about HYMAN....very very good player...belle acquisition.

And JACQUES MARTIN is back home with the SENS...good move......sera très utile pour conseiller le coaching staff et surtout en regard de leurs jeunes défenseurs....a team fun to watch.

McDavid may be on fire but still isn't even in the top 5 in NHL scoring/points, which right now looks like this:

1. Kucherov 44
2. Miller 39
3. Panarin 37
4. Pasternak 36
5. Q. Hughes 34

McDavid currently 10th with 32 and has work to do to catch Kooch.

My money’s on McDavid winning the Hart Trophy once again & the Oilers making the playoffs. The Western Conference is very weak. Vancouver may be getting back to Earth after their terrific start. Same thing with the Bruins. Look out for the Kings!

Is that the same Jacques Martin who coached the Habs years ago, or another guy?

The same guy, he’s 70 now, I really wonder what he can bring in today’s game.

The Rangers have shown Toronto who is Boss in Toronto tonight. 2 goals from Zbinejad, 3 assists by Gustafsson and stellar goaltending of Sheshterkin added up to a 5-2 raking of the Maple Leafs. This is the kind of statement game the Rangers previously made with their win over the Bruins as well. With Shesterkin on top of his game, Toronto and Boston will need to get by the Blueshirts.

I’m not even sure if TO or Boston would make it to the Association final!
The Leafs received the message last night that when Igor is on his game, they are not scoring more than 2 goals. They knew this before last night's game, but now the message has been reaffirmed, and firmly planted in their heads. This puts a pressure in the heads of the Leafs players, some of whom are head cases, and when playoffs come and they have to play the Rangers, they will be pressing even more- just like they always do. They are the Dallas Cowboys of the NHL- they look good in the regular season, but in the playoffs, they ask for the "early checkout" from the Hyatt.
