Just to point out, between the last 2 ice ages the equator area was still tropical, between the previous 2 the equator was like a slush zone. Between the 2 before that it was entire planet covered in ice/ snow. Now if you look at the data you can see that there is a natural warming trend. And yes I know humans add a bit to it but we are not the doomsday people, the climate still changes without us.

STN, I have mentioned it before as well...however, I could not have made a better counterargument with scientific data supporting your statements which I consider the overriding and principle factors to climate change. But try to explain this to the "klutzes" in this thread. Earth resides in a solar system where it is subject to external macro forces that are much more powerful than us! So you've got so called "scientists" which in all honestly are "no different than "movie critics" who are on both sides of the fence on climate change!

Let me say this, what if we get another volcanic eruption of the magnitude of Krakatoa!...who are we going to blame!...man induced climate change!!!...lol!

There was an ice age coming in the 70's, then the global warming but when that did not happen it got changed to climate change, when people realized that yes the climate is changing as always they are now calling it a climate emergency. More and more scientists are signing off on the doomsday man made climate change. I forget who it was that posted climate comes in waves ( recently somewhere ) but he was correct, we are almost at the peak of the warm cycle and a cold cycle will start soon ( and with climate I do not mean tomorrow )

Show me some real proof that a doomsday is happening and it is caused by man and by introducing a tax it will be fixed, or even show me something that says Canada can alter what the climate is doing.
Should be simple for a scientist who is up on climate change.

It's hard to tell when climate deniers are being sarcastic, when they are being cynical, when they are arguing in bad faith, and when they are just being stupid.

Look at you previous comment. You talk about how there was going to be an ice age in the 70s. Is that because you are ignorant? Is it because it is what the talking points are? Is it because you are deliberately lying? Who can tell? (There were news articles touting global cooling but the majority of papers even then we're arguing for warming )
You say they changed the name from global warming to climate change because global warming didn't happen. Again, ignorance? Propoganda? Difficult to say.

When you talk about the failed doomsday predictions you us a list that mixes in headlines, press accounts by non scientists, statements about trends that were changed (as if no regulations were ever passed) etc among real bad predictions. Are you lazy and didn't check? Are you ignorant and got suckered by someone who packaged something? Are you deliberately arguing in bad faith?

If you get a cancer your are doomed. You may have a few months to a few years. Never a physicians can predict exactly, with certainty, if you will die and when. Some nutcase will think it can be cured with spirituality, positive thinking and drinking your pee. Well if I get cancer I will consult a physician and follow is advice.

That's what we should do now with scientist to try to reduce our impact on climate change.

^^^^^ You do not get it and never will, scientists are changing their minds. Before not one dared to go against it and now they are coming out and saying yes climate is changing but it always has and will. No scientist in favor of man made climate change can say what percentage is caused by humans, when asked there is no answer because they do not know. Who much will be changed by stopping all fossil fuel vehicles, how much will change by stopping all coal power stations, you will never get an answer because they do not know. It could be so minute that itbwould have zero impact on a global scale. I have been around for a long time hand have traveled a lot, I see no air quality of life that has changed. Yes the weather ( climate ) has changed but it has always done that, if you did a little research you would also find that out.
In my opinion there is no in the near future ( and I mean century ) doomsday due to climate change.

Yes science can be uncertain and even sometimes wrong.

For over 50 years there was no proof that smoking caused cancer. There was just no evidence. I am sure when some doctors started saying otherwise there was plenty of smokersceptic... Then we discovered that Tobacco company had buried those evidence. We are kind at the same fucking stage over again on the climate... The difference is we have enough evidence but we are not acting on them.

Why do climate change deniers always believe the tiny tiny minority on only this scientific topic? Almost every field of science has some amount of controversy, yet we follow the consensus of the vast majority. Funny how it's different with climate.

Honestly, it does little good to shutdown industry in North America so they can pollute all they want in China and India. Pollution does not recognize political boundaries. This is asinine and as a result, we will all be poorer. You may say "I work for the government" (= you do nothing) or maybe you do nothing. If the government can't fleece taxpayers like me what are you going to do? And believe me, I'm an environmentalist. I'm against windmills. Not only do they not make sense and not a single windmill could survive without a a government subsidy, they also kill birds. I'm also pro Nuclear power. Oh yeah you say? The French derive ~90% of their energy via nuclear and they are socialists and they hate us so they must be correct?

For the second part, cancer, what does that have to do with this? If cancer has a link of any kind to climate change every person on this planet for the history of the earth would need to have cancer.

Someone mentioned a small minority of people (,depends what sites you go on, some pro left media will promote it, look around, many people do not believe in the Climate Emergency. Many scientists ( and the numbers are increasing because they do not want to look like fools in the future ) are changing their minds, not many in the past but when Greta gave her performance 500 signed in to dispute her.
You praise a 16byr old mentally handicapped girl that was manipulated be environmental extremists. You say to listen to kids, WTF do they know, they are taught to think like that, give them a chance to venture into the real world, experience life for a few decades, they will change their minds. My daughter started university this year, she tells me of the flat earth groups, climate alarmists, basically fragile kids with no life experiences ( maybe a free camping trip would help).
Short version, there is no absolute truth that man can alter climate change enought to alter what they think the climate will do.
