Wow! The Canucks gave up 7, YES SEVEN third periode goals tonight to lose to the NYI 7-4 at home! Torts must be losing his mind, what's left of it!

Who knows....maybe in a few months after both Detroit & Vancouver miss the playoffs, both teams may trade one another's coaches & Torts may wind up in Detroit!

But one thing is almost certain: THE DETROIT RED WINGS WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS AND THE NEXT 5 YEARS WILL BE PURE HELL FOR THEIR FAN BASE

Quick review here.........Got a call from my good friend Doc Holliday the night after The Famous GoodGirls Party #3 about going to the Leafs/habs game. He scored a pair of tickets in a luxury suite for a very resonable price. Thought about it for literally 1 second and said "lets go!"

Got to the Montreal Casino Corporate Box Suite and it was a most enjoyable experience. The host and hostess were great. Food was excellent and our hostess never let us go more than a minute without a new beverage. Met some nice people and they did not kick us out when we cheered for the Leafs when they scored. Great game all the way thru, back and forth like a Leafs/habs game should be and even went to a shootout.

I must say i was impressed with the view as the way the suite was angled it just made us feel much closer to the ice than i thought those suites would be. Great Game, Great Food and Drink and Great Atmosphere with a Great Friend = Great night at Le Centre Bell! :thumb:

It may have been a more enjoyable experience had we wound up in the Playboy Enterprises suite next door to ours. ;)

p.s. The only negative for me is that i seem to have misplaced (dropped) one of the three $100 bills that were in my pocket that night. Either i lost it at the game (when i bought those raffle tickets or tipped the attendants) or at the Keg afterwards when i paid my bill.

BOYZZZ!

But one thing is almost certain: ...DETROIT RED WINGS...THE NEXT 5 YEARS WILL BE PURE HELL FOR THEIR FAN BASE

Terrible! What a horror! I pity them! IF IF IF it happens they would need only 42 more years to be exactly like Leafs fans...EPIC OUCH. :thumb:

Meanwhile:

The Bruins are on a hot streak, just 1 point from leading in the East, and they just stuck it to the Canadiens AT the Bell Centre, of all places.

MONTREAL -- Tuukka Rask didn't look like a goalie who has had fits trying to beat the Montreal Canadiens.

Rask stopped Max Pacioretty and Alex Galchenyuk on first-period breakaways, and the Boston Bruins stretched their winning streak to six with a 4-1 victory Wednesday night.

Rask made 35 saves for his third win in 15 games against Montreal.

"They had a couple of breakaways, but we kept it on the outside pretty good," said Rask, who ended Boston's five-game losing run against the Canadiens dating to last season.

Carl Soderberg, Patrice Bergeron and Milan Lucic scored in the second, and Zdeno Chara added a goal. The Bruins (43-17-5) improved to 9-1-2 in their past dozen games and extended their run without a regulation loss on the road to 11 games.

"He's been great all year," winger Brad Marchand said about Rask. "He's the guy we look to be big for us. We didn't worry about anything that's happened in the past. It's more about how we've been playing lately. We focused on how we have to play."

With 91 points, the Bruins moved within one point of idle Pittsburgh for the Eastern Conference lead. They return to Boston to face the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday night.

Cheers,

Merlot

Very good review Ig, but you forgot to mention just one thing: who won the game and who LOST the game?

Your prediction reminds me very much of Joe T.'s famous predictions...and Joe T.'s predictions over the past few years have made me a very wealthy man. The secret of course is in knowing what to do with the predictions. Thanks for your input Doctor.

4 out of a possible 6 points for the Leafs on the toughest 3 game road trip for an eastern conference team this season. I would have been happy with 2, but like Kessel, i am thrilled to get 4!

Had the Leafs not had a back to back against likely the best team in Cali the game before, i am sure they could have got at least one point there as well, but it is what it is. The longest road trip of the season for the young Leafs now heads back East for 2 winnable games in Washington and detroit.

GLG!

Imagine if they still had Grabovski! How much better would they have been?

This is a joke, right? Grabo is NOT better than Bozak, Grabo is NOT better than Kadri, and to get the best production out of Grabo, he has to be a top 2 centre, not playing a third line defensive role like he was limited to in Toronto. Buying him out has turned out to be the right thing to do.

The real question should have been:

"Imagine how much better they would have been with Dave Bolland in the lineup all season" Btw, he is coming back real soon :thumb:

Please remind all of us: Were the recent games against the Islanders, Habs and Blue Jackets also "winnable"?

Yes Ig, you have come up with a great joke! The last time I laughed so hard was when the leafs collapsed against the Bruins in game seven, but your fabulous joke here is just as funny! Well done sir!:thumb:
