Follow up question : clients, are you able to notice the difference between no makeup versus a "no makeup makeup look" where the person has a full face of makeup but made in a way to look like they're not wearing makeup?
Yes. The smell and the taste is present

I don't like makup and find kissing lipstick gross. Light makeup doesn't bother me, but heavy is a turn off for sure. A lot of the maintenance women do I find to be more for women than men. I'd prefer natural nails to fake talons. Overdone eyebrows look wierd imo.

I never make requests, but I'd prefer cute comfy clothes over lingerie. Natural overall instead of made up.

I see what you're saying but we all get requests for heels and lingerie and stuff like that.. I think asking the sp to keep it minimal can prevent a confusion when it comes to expectations.

I'm personally going to be taking off my nail extensions soon because I don't feel like it's improving my quality of life at the moment at all tho lol

It's gonna be a mixed bag just like asking women if they like beards or bodyhair. The obvious answer is some do and some don't.

Functional hands are great.

Men have always generally preferred that women wear little or no makeup. Women seem to insist on doing it anyway and it seems to be more that they compete with other women to do what they think looks good regardless of what men think even though they say they are doing it to look good for guys. Guys notice the difference between the no make up look and no make up, except maybe in dark clubs. Studies have over and over again said that the biggest turn off for men is women who wear too much makeup. Also, for clarity, what a woman defines as too much makeup and what a man defines as such are two different things entirely. The man's idea of "too much makeup" is about half what a woman may define as too much makeup. Not only that, but men in relationships often resent the amount of time their partners use to apply makeup, especially just for daily routines like going to the supermarket and such. Men associate a lot of negative things with makeup in general.

I don't think studies are reliable. I've met a lot of men who loved women wearing makeup, and I've met men who believed women weren't wearing makeup when they actually wore.. Or they believed that a woman was wearing little makeup, when it fact she was wearing tons of it. I've definitely said good bye to heels this year unless I'm doing an incall and keeping them on for 5 minutes.. becoming a tattoo artist means getting rid of nails, too. Maybe the next step is toning it down with the makeup :)

My question for SP's : I know we all started at different points in our lives and have been in the industry for a different amount of time. What were your preconceived notions about this profession before you started, and what has changed now?

Yes I am able to notice.
I don’t have a preference, make up applied by someone who knows what they are doing is great, by someone who doesn’t can make them look like a clown.
A woman without any make up can be just as gorgeous as one with.

Sometimes it's hard to tell even for me if someone is wearing makeup because some people are so great at pulling off a very very natural look.

A lot of people assume I wear a TON of makeup because I like bright colors, but I don't do contouring and I don't even wear foundation, just a tinted lotion. I've done modeling and assisted photographers in the past and have friends who do drag, the type of makeup that really does change people's faces takes hours to apply and has so many layers..

I know my wife was totally gorgeous without any make up, but she would never go out side the home without any.
The point being if it made her feel better about how she looked then it is great and I am all for it.
Same goes for SP I have never seen my ATF without any make up, but I am sure it wouldn’t make any difference to me.

I started in the industry (in porn) when I turned 18. I was young and skinny with big boobs, but I stopped getting callbacks after I put on ten pounds... which is still quite a bit lighter than I am now. I also remember that he (who was part of my friend group) wouldn't hire friends who were drop dead gorgeous and curvy.

Then I had a friend who was working in another part of the industry explain to me that she couldn't be a BBW because she wasn't big enough, but also couldn't advertise as "normal".

When I started considering escorting, I found Indy and clicked through to everyone's websites and was amazed at the vast array of different shapes and sizes of people and realized that there was a market for someone like me. I really thought it was a young and skinny woman's game. I'm really happy that there seems to be a place for everyone.

The porn industry seems really brutal, but also that era was just fucking horrible for women, being a kid in that era gave me brain damage :( I've also heard escorts tell me that agencies in the 2000s refused them for being over a certain weight, which was still very low.. or that agencies wouldn't hire SP's over 30. but I feel like the porn industry was worse. I'm so sorry you had that experience..

One of my misconceptions about the industry was also about the expectations clients have when it comes to our physical appearance. I know I'm lucky to be thin and young looking and conventionally attractive to an extent but I thought escorts had to look like barbie style super models lol. I realized that not all clients view us purely as a sex object or a magazine page. They are paying for a service and companionship.

I knew other sex workers before I started, but they were quite secretive about their work, or the way I heard about it wasn't showing the whole picture. This field of work is so much more complex and diverse than I thought it was.. in terms of service provided, people participating in the industry and clientele..

The studies are pretty consistent, and reliable as far as that goes, but they don't really matter, and they aren't an indictment of what you like. There are guys who don't like bolt-ons, don't like tattoos or piercings, don't like certain hair colours or body types or whatever. This in no way invalidates what you like, and what you do to make yourself happy. It's true that most guys don't like much makeup. They can usually also tell if someone is wearing makeup at all. Guys are also deeply ingrained not to say anything negative about someone's makeup to them., anymore than they would usually comment directly on their weight or age. I've been around way way too many guys who hobby and in general for that even to be in question. Having said that , there are still plenty of guys who don't mind it at all and the guys you need to worry about are the ones who are going to like you for what you do and who you are, just like the other girls who indulge themselves in whatever other esthetic makes them happy. Just do you and your own thing and to Hell with anybody who doesn't like it.

Is the inside of the vagina generally moist all the time.
Like the inside of the mouth?
Forgive me for dragging this semi-old post back to life but I'm just catching up on this thread (there's so much good stuff in here lol).

I'm not actually sure if this question is trolling or not tbh. But just came here to say that there's like a huge variety of moistness of vaginas. Person to person, but then also time of month, age, stress level, etc.

IDK about that. Most of the time I see women (including me) say we do our makeup for ourselves, not for guys. I do what I think looks good, and what makes me feel pretty!
